First of all, thanks to our event partners the AEC (without which we wouldn’t have key location data or the polling places to host #DemocracySausages). Thanks also to media agencies who helped get the word out and to our team who not only built a fantastic new site but kept the data uploads going.

Compared to 2022, there has been a nationwide swing to #DemocracySausage, with an increase of 5.2 percentage points in the estimated percentage of election day voters with access to #DemocracySausage. The largest swing was in NSW with a 10.5 percentage point increase.

Once adjusted for the estimated percentage of election day voters, ACT was the leading state/territory, with 86.5% of voters able to access a #DemocracySausage, compared to 48.6% nationwide.

Australia-wide, there were 2,659 sites with #DemocracySausage and 1,536 with #DemocracyCake available. As expected, the more populous states had a higher count of sausage and cake.

Nationwide, we’ve had information about 3,622 polling places, representing 64.8% of today’s estimated voters (This includes sites where we heard no noms were available.)

We also appreciate our site users! In the last 24 hours, we’ve had 2 MILLION visitors to our site, with a peak of 61,830 simultaneous users at 8pm AEST yesterday evening. Today’s peak was 55,200 users at 9:15am AEST.

First of all, thank you all so much for sharing your sausage intel with us. Over the course of this election, we received 3,603 submissions (1,418 from stall owners and 2,185 tip-offs), which we used to populate site information - with a few more still trickling in.

We aren't so specific as vegan but we do list "savoury vegetarian" as a specific filter option.
