Some thumbnails and one taken into a more refined sketch. Did a few different value layouts to see how it feels not quite sure I've found the right one. Will probably see about doing another of the thumbnails and see how it feels.

A complied set of sketches featuring a young woman in an elaborate dress over flowing into the room around her. The woman looks into the background and catches a small animal escaping through a hugh double door and out into the distant landscape. A more detailed finished sketch taken from the thumbnail sketch. The woman is drawn more accurately with more focus placed on correct anatomy and the dress folds are accurately sketches in. The woman this time is tying up laces on her legs, and a fox escapes through a doorway. This is one of four value studies of this scene with a focused on darker values for the laces where the dress and figure are closer to a 25% gray. The same sketch but for version three through four the value scale tries darker combinations for the dress and figure to separate them from the background.

Just about done doing the layout for another big oil painting. Still working with the figure pose, and need to go start prepping the surface to paint in a few weeks.
A 3d test render that will be used as reference for a larger oil painting. The render depicts a contemporary Victorian style room, black and white marble tiled floor, and an arched black double door looking out into a scenic river.

Here's the piece I have up on my banner. One of my favorites in terms of subject matters and the black/white color palette. Really fun piece to setup and of course the latex ballet shoes.

Contemporary still life- a figure (only shown feet down) is balanced opposite a white iced cake. Both are standing on a table covered in matching desserts and sweets. The cake is dripping with liquid black chocolate icing, the figures feet are bound in black latex bondage ballet shoes. The desserts, shoes, all contain some form of intricate patterning or design. The entire piece and objects within are of an alternating black and white color palette, offset with slight purples and dark navy blues. A closer look at the left half of the piece, focusing on the white cake sitting atop it's black stand. Underneath we can see a pile of cupcakes, berries, and jam filled pastries. This close we can see the intricate pattern of the table cloth a decorative floral chain stitch. A closer view of the right side focusing on the figure in the black ballet shoes. We can see the details of the laces and reflections in the shoes. More desserts are shown this time with a spiral doughnut with chocolate icing.

This is a small little oil painting I did I always forget about despite being quite fond of. Always happy to randomly find it tucked away in various work folders. Think it was 6*6in sold last year to a collector.

More little dessert studies, these are Mirror-Glaze Cakes. Probably took too long in some of the details, and you can see where some issues with initial sketch led to problems with how the top circle meets the side. Anyways..
