6/7 The track is inspired by the sensation of seeing someone who is no longer with us, a quiet projection of memory that gives the piece its title.

5/7 The main theme sound is an Oberheim Matrix 1000 using a preset built on FM interaction between oscillators, enriched with two reverbs (Valhalla Supermassive), one extremely long and one quite dense, with a sidechain to preserve clarity around the melody. A trick I use many times with reverbs.

3/7 You Still Appear core theme comes from a motif I composed eighteen years earlier and finally developed into a complete composition.
I never quit on good projects.

2/7 You Still Appear was one of the last pieces finished for Holographic Ghost Stories (a full length album released on 2021) and helped define the emotional arc of the work. I returned to making music during the 2020 lockdown after almost twenty years of silence.
