It's brutal. There are zero beds and now security guards stationed at shelter doors so people don't loiter. God forbid humans try to get warm or ask for food in the middle of winter

There was a time when we could call central intake &find a bed.. Now you are on hold for hours. We used to take walk ins..but are no longer allowed -have to call central intake for an 80 yr old man that walks into the shelter asking for a bed in the middle of winter! Nonsense

I find it alarming that people are unaware of these conditions...I remember a reporter going undercover at The better living centre and being appalled. I used to work there. People really don't know about the conditions of these shelters and drop ins?
