@joshuakosman.bsky.social, Yuja Wang won me over to the merits of the Ravel Left Hand concerto with the clarity and delicacy of her reading. I would have been more comfortable if she had worn clothes that allowed her to move easily on stage.

@joshuakosman.bsky.social apropos of Järvi and the Mahler 7th. It's the Mahler symphony I most enjoy hearing and it seems to be performed more these days. I revel in the often overloaded counterpoint even when (as I found with Järvi) the reading is a bit superficial.

Me too. Based only on HD's I'd say "nice voice, but the singing leaves me cold."
A bit reminiscent of Margaret Price.
