Snow showers will continue through the evening then let up around 8pm. Another band is likely to set up by Friday morning. Still looking at 1-3" for areas north of I-80.

I don't know if you have hear but Tom Skilling is back with wgn. He's going to be doing some great weather stories where he teaches us things and takes us along as he learns new things himself. Look for him soon!

Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson trumpets a homicide clearance rate of nearly 54% - "the highest since 2015."
But we found many of the cases the department has cleared didn't actually result in anyone being arrested or charged.

Our models have performed superbly today. As expected the snow has lightened up. This isn't the end. Expect more heavier snow tomorrow morning. 1 to 3 inches expected in total. Most of it during rush-hour. ❄️
