Husband. Nurse. Pescatarian. Injured runner. Hobbling walker. Wet swimmer.

Democratic socialist. Internationalist. Humanitarian.
I prefer to think of myself as “late youth”.

Unfortunately there is a difference between the conclusions reached by my delusional mind and my increasingly creaky body…

Trig pillars.
Cut benchmarks.
Fire hydrants.
Sluice valves.

There’s a very small chance that we’ve become slightly dull middle-aged men.

But at least we’re not in the Epstein Files..!

8. Try a little bit of democratic socialism from time to time…

Unelected chambers do not exist in democracies.

Get rid of the lot.

Bloke in most important job in the country makes huge error of judgement, but because acknowledged it he should keep the job..!?

No! He’s demonstrated poor judgement.

PM is not a job for people who repeatedly make poor judgement calls.

He and McSweeney must go.

Not doing so would undermine public trust and discourage enemy combatants from abiding by the laws of armed conflict.

This is an irresponsible idea and unbecoming of a former senior officer.

No one should be above the law.

“He would provide legal protection against prosecution for military veterans”

This is a terrible idea. Utterly terrible.

I served for well over 20 years. Including in Afghanistan and Iraq.

If my colleagues committed crimes they absolutely SHOULD be prosecuted.

Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2014.
That’s 12 years ago. Not 4.
We can’t ignore Crimea.

With careful selection of the right passengers I’m sure we could crowd fund a mission to fire a rocket into the cold expanse of space…

Musk. Trump. Putin. Netanyahu. Ali Khamenei. Farage.

I imagine an well made, thoughtful documentary about the intelligent, articulate and attractive former First Lady would be far more popular than being forced to watch a film about that bland personality vacuum.

As an Englishman and former member of the front row union, I’d rather see Welsh rugby looking stronger.
This match used to be the most exciting in the 5/6N.
There should be more passion and no more than a few points either way at FT.

Can you even begin to imagine the response of a British squaddie if ordered to watch a film about Victoria Starmer..!?
February 7, 2026 at 3:29 PM
Yes!

Stop simply telling us that ReformUK are a bunch of lying, cheating, racist, failed Tories.

We already know that.

Tell us instead about the positive difference that socialist-green policies can make.

We need a positive message. Not just squabbling.

I think our friends in the USA are all too aware of this.

We need to offer them support and friendship in this difficult time and offer some rehabilitation and forgiveness when the current crisis inevitably ends.

They then have to pay over three-grand for the privilege of gaining indefinite leave to remain - so that they can continue preventing the collapse of our health service.

Migrants are an asset to our society.

I agree with Yusuf.

Immigration is MY top priority.
We need much more of it.
We need to make it easier.
We need to celebrate it.

My overseas colleagues in the NHS are filling a gap in the UK nursing workforce deliberately created by successive governments and worsened by Brexit.

I only want to read about him in the sentencing reports or obituaries.

McSweeney IS the Prime Minister.

Starmer is just the public face of his floundering government.

They both need to go.
