On Dec. 20, 1956, the year-long bus boycott ended in Montgomery, Alabama. To prepare his followers for returning to the newly-integrated bus system, Dr. King wrote these instructions. I wish we could all be as gracious to each other. He was a remarkable leader worth emulating.

It was on this day in 1955, in Montgomery, Alabama, that Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat in the front of a bus to a white passenger. As The Neville Brothers sang— Thank you, Sister Rosa!
