Another #PrintPromptMonday and I’m resurrecting my first attempt at #water in this 2021 Ducks of Schlachtensee reduction linoprint. By chance I’m carving a new block now based on the same photo, which might show up for next week’s prompt.

Today's #PrintPromptMonday is based on a French card deck in which the court figures are not #flipped so the prompt forced my hand. I was going for a reduction print and realized multi-block would be better but that needs more time, so it's a #workinprogress

My entry for #PrintPromptMonday #Indoors is this multi-block/reduction print I did in 2022. Based on a photo, it's Easter Sunday 1970 somewhere in upstate NY, and though recalled with a touch of the vernal equinox, we were in fact indoors (& fun fact that's me second from left).

My Brontë Sisters lino print is based on the only portrait of the sisters that has come down to us by their brother Branwell (last pic). I took my liberties, among them the flame red hair. Writing is based on Charlotte’s from her Jane Eyre MS. Print is multi-block and reduction with pencil.

Working with linoleum to make a relief print starts by drawing onto the block and carving away the negative space. In this case I’m using several blocks (“multi-block”) but also carving out more from one after the initial print (“reduction”). #workinprogress
