Love your article. I have another pen name and would have to change back matter & reupload, etc. I'm thinking of relaunching that pen name and in the process of developing a new one so this article is helpful and timely!

I know the video I shared talks mostly about handcrafters, but it's the same for digital products. There's plenty of YouTube videos by Etsy sellers who give the lowdown on how Etsy has ceased to be profitable for them.

Yes, I knew about Ream's implosion last year. Things got ugly, but they accept kink. Radish does seem to prefer less/non-kink, which is why figuring out direct sales intrigues me. Re: Etsy, they've been going downhill for a while.

I feel your pain! I have toyed with the idea of doing a serial but don't know how (if) I really want to do it. If I do, I'm going to try doing it direct because it can be done. TBH, I wouldn't bother with Etsy, but Ream or Radish may work.

Local bookstores and local thrift stores. Check your public library. They often have book sales. Online, you can go to Bookshop.org (they focus on indie sellers) or ThriftBooks, Barnes & Noble. Good luck! ☺️
