While in Kathmandu I ate mainly western and Chinese food as I didn't find any Nepali restaurants. However, when doing the Everest trek I stayed in local hostelries, I ate the local food that was very basic and not very nice. However, in Namche (the only town on the way) I had Yak which was tasty.
