Album Of The Day: Drummer Boy by Jars Of Clay

Released 30 years ago, this EP contains two Christmas songs & a few other recordings from one of my all-time favorite bands. This captures the earliest days of Jars of Clay & gives them a bit of Christmas musical repertoire, which they added to later.

Album Of The Day: Joy by Steven Curtis Chapman

This is his 3rd Christmas album & 17th studio album. Opening with "Joy To The World" & with a throwback look on the cover, this album is more upbeat & has more of a classic vibe than his previous Christmas albums. The original songs are fun too!

Album Of The Day: Sleddin' Hill by August Burns Red

This is instrumental rock from a metalcore band. There is some bells, keyboards & even some strings, but it's mostly walls of guitars, lots of drums & bass on these heavy instrumentals. It's a fun listen if you're looking for metal this Christmas.

Album Of The Day: Majesty & Wonder by Phil Keaggy

This is another Top 5 in my Christmas albums. It's a beautiful instrumental collection of songs on guitars backed by the London Festival Orchestra to produce a very full, classical sound. It sounds just as excellent today as when it was released.

Album Of The Day: Smile In The Mystery by John Mark McMillan

His seventh album combines a number of new & old Christmas tunes with a few standards that are not really Christmas, but they fit well. I love John Mark McMillan's unique, slow-rock musical style and this is a fun collection of songs.

Album Of The Day: Third Verse by Smalltown Poets

Released 25 years ago this past September, this is the aptly-titled third album from this rock band. It's maybe not the band's most beloved album, but I really like these songs; it's quality rock with a Christian message. They released a new EP too!

Album Of The Day: Unclassified by Robert Randolph & The Family Band

It's the weekend, so I needed some rock to kick it off. I love this band's mix of R&B, rock, funk, soul & Gospel. Half the songs on this album are instrumental jams & the whole band of relatives/friends are excellent musicians.

Album Of The Day: Ethan Luck & The Intruders

Released 10 years ago yesterday is his third EP. You might not know Ethan by name, but he's played music in bands like The O.C. Supertones, Relient K, Demon Hunter, and more. This is good rock with a bit of a punk ethos to it and I like his style.

Album Of The Day: Then Came The Morning by The Lone Bellow

Released 10 years ago this past January, this is the 2nd album by this alt country band. This 3-piece has great vocals & lots of energy, though I found this a bit more sleepy than their 1st album. Their music has rock & folk elements too.
