Did a quick build of the GM's younger sibling to go along with the vintage build. Izubuchi makes the prettiest robots #gunpla

RGM-79 GM, simply perfection. No other build will top this, I'm afraid #gunpla
Vintage GM in its natural state: standing upright and arms down as they are loose. Its left hand is glued around a handle for the shield while one of its right hands is fixed with its signature beam spray. The GM takes a defensive position, holding its shield at an angle to protect its cockpit. A view off to the side of the GM swinging a popsicle stick of a beam saber. The GM discards its shield and flees for its life at the sight of a red mobile suit: a confused Char's Zaku II.

I greatly overestimated my ability to paint decals, but I oddly find it charming, messy tho it turned out. I still need to paint the hands and shield as well
GM is now adorned with various red stripes, black squares, a white triangle, and rough-looking 24s applied to the waist and its left shoulder. In addition, the visor has been painted with a mix of Vallejo Intermediate Green and Sky Blue, and the beam saber is a mix of prominently White, a dash of Intermediate Green, and a helping of Sky Blue as well.

Probably some of my best brush work yet for the greatest MS ever. There's still work to be done, but I think I can move on to the decals for now
Front view of the GM. It is now painted in its anime colors. The mint color is a mix of Vallejo Model Colors Sky Blue, Intermediate Green, and White. Vallejo Model Colors Scarlet, Flat Yellow, and Black were used for their respective colors. Back view of the GM. That small, unpainted spot next to the beam saber rack will haunt me until I fix it or forget about it.

The base painting is almost done on the GM. I'm really liking how it's turned out this time around

I gave the GM a chest tattoo tonight. It took a lot of concentration to line up the tape, and I think it's straight enough. I'll paint it tomorrow, I think

Mulling over whether to stick to the classic paint job or go for the real type color scheme, decals and all, a difficult choice...

I simply couldn't put off building this GM until tomorrow, so I assembled the limbs. Now, I can rest. Gunpla technology peaked here, unfortunately. #gunpla

Weapons aside, RG Char's Zaku II is done, and I even took to painting the bug himself, along with an abstract interpretation of his emblem (painting miniatures is hard) #gunpla

The Zaku has acquired its frilly skirt! I also painted the ball peg on the front pieces in the hope that it'll hold these loose parts in place

After that other cursed project, I am working on redeeming myself by building a replacement RG Zaku II #gunpla
Both of the RG Zaku's legs have been assembled and are attached to a WIP waist. Meanwhile, a custom Hobby Hi-zack and vintage Char's Zaku II eye each other down inquisitivly.

Used masking tape to paint the blue on the backplate, applied a waterslide, then peeled some white paint setting it. I think I patched it well enough, and barring the top coat, I think it's done!
The backplate of the Hobby Hi-zack now has the blue accent and a yellow triangle decal, courtesy of the GM Cold District's waterslides in the 0080 set. While rubbing off excess Mr. Mark Setter, the cotton swab tore a good patch of white paint to the right of the decal, and I not-so-subtly masked it as best I could. The Hobby Hi-zack holds its head high and lays its hands on its waist on a job well done.

I finally got back around to painting and made a lot of progress at that! I tried freehanding the stripes, which turned out messy, but I'm still content with it overall
Hobby Hi-zack now brandishes red and yellow stripes on its shoulder-mounted shield. Yellow trims have also been applied to the thrusters and backpack using a mix of Vallejo Moon Yellow and Basic Skin Tone. Front view of the Hobby Hi-zack as it stares into your soul. I've been moving, and I finally got enough of my setup to build again, so naturally, I picked up the Origin Gundam to start with #gunpla
HGGTO Gundam waves at you, specifically, from above. HGGTO Gundam hunches over with legs spread wide to show off its compliment of weapons: shoulder cannon, beam rifle, and shield. Next to it is a kitbashed Gundam, which is waving with its weapon. HGGTO Gundam crouches after having slashed an unamused Hobby Hi-zack's arms off. The Gundam looks towards you, pleased with itself.

Somehow, I forgot how messy white is to paint with. I will definitely need to use a primer for next time. Still, it's taking shape now

The painting has finally begun! I was eager to paint the blue, but in retrospect, I probably should've started with white. Oh well, I'll make it work
Hobby Hi-zack, stripped of its arms and head, has had red and blue painted. Dspiae marker Mecha Red and a mix of Vallejo Deep Sky Blue and Magic Blue were used respectively.

I made incremental changes over the week, patched the gaps I made with epoxy putty, and inadvertently created a Hi-zack Custom. I did get creative with the shield too
A real hack job of a Hi-zack. Back hand parts were glued onto the arms, and gaps were filled with epoxy putty. The new shield is an extra shoulder with an HGGTO Zaku's leg part attached to roughly form the shape. Holes were drilled into the legs to attach hoses as well, and finally, the spikes are being cut off the shoulder pads.

Base Hi-zack complete with a few minor modifications, I will need to attach hoses to the side of the legs and adjust the shoulders next
EFF Hi-zack, barring its hoses and monoeye, has an additional spiked shoulder on its right arm, which required a little trimming of the ball peg on the shoulder. Back view of the Hi-zack. The backpack lacks the additional thrusters, and verniers and pair of boosters on the bottom have been replaced with single boosters.

What started as curiosity led me to taking science too far, so I present this Hi-Zaku thing which I will not work on further #gunpla
Hi-Zaku hunches forward with machine gun at the ready. It is a RG Zaku II with the upper body of the HGUC Hi-zack heavily modified to be grafted to the frame. The verniers on the backpack have been replaced with the HGGTO GM's missile pods. On top of all that, it sports the HGUC GM's shield. Front view of the Hi-Zaku thing. Now, its machine gun is raised and the GM shield can be seen clearly.

I enjoyed building the vintage Nu, messy color correction and all. It's got great arm articulation for its age which I had fun playing with #gunpla
