I spent a good 3+ hours today using a combination of a paddle bit, Forstner bit, and chisel and hammer to make a fake peg leg for a chaise lounge so it would look more “shabby” and every second of that distraction was excellent, even the ones where I banged my knuckles really hard.

Goal: create a lighting effect of a torch being used to ignite street lamps. V0 POC done!

Yesterday, I …

1. Rescued a stray kitten running back and forth across a busy six-lane street. ✅🐈

2. Got the kitten off to a vet for intake (after getting bitten a bunch of times). ✅ 😬

3. Started day 0 of rabies treatment. 5 shots in my finger, 2 in my left arm, 1 in my right. ✅ 💉

Unrelated to their camp, but for another, I also made periaktoi for Rainbow Fish: The Musical. Particularly fond of how the Fancy Fish Soirée side turned out.

Kids finished camp out this week by dressing up as Lil Petey and Dog Man.

In other news, I made Lil Petey and Dog Man costumes this week.

Was asked by my kindergartner’s and second grader’s teachers to come in earlier this week and read a few books about Pride (❤️). The night before, my kids ask if I can please dress up for the readings. Moderately proud of the diva queen impression I pulled off in the few intervening hours. 😅

I’m convinced USB A to USB micro B cables secretly multiply while my back is turned. Not counting the ones in use around the house or the 12 I have as back-up, I’ve accumulated 70 extras.

Anyone found better disposal options than (properly) recycling them?
