It was one of those movies that people weirdly dogpiled on hating when it came out, but seems maybe similar in vibes to Bruce Almighty or Click just a decade after those type of movies went extinct.

Yea, every time I rewatch it with a friend it seems like that. I first watched it completely blind, no trailer or nothing. So it didn't feel predictable that first watch thru.
