On Sept. 22, 1862 the Emancipation Proclamation was signed into effect— but it was not until June 19th two and a half years later that news of the Proclamation finally arrived in Texas, the last shelter of formal chattel slavery in the US.

Today we celebrate Karl Marx, whose ideas still shape our fight for again injustice. Born on this day in 1818, his analysis of capitalism remains remarkably relevant. As Marx said, the point isn't just to interpret the world, but to change it. Join us!

Today Delaware DSA celebrates Lenin's birthday! Born April 22, 1870, his revolutionary theory and practice transformed political movements worldwide. His writings on class struggle, imperialism and state power continue to guide socialists fighting for economic justice today!

This Easter, we reflect on Christ's radical message of debt forgiveness, resource sharing, and building communities of equals. The earliest Christians lived these socialist principles. May we all follow their example in creating a better world for everyone!
