Yes, I respect that. As far as I know there are many interesting texts and social messages in hip-hop and rap music. I really appreciate it as a form of art and trying to educate myself to understand it better.
But sometimes it feels my neurodivergent brain wired for one specific era of music 😅

Yeah purity culture sucks but sadly good for disgusting "drama farming" 😕
Hmmm... Not gonna lie, I don't remember him saying anything against NSFW, but his vids are LONG so I may not remember correctly.
What I know he's a trans ally and recommended channel of Kat Blaque who is into BDSM and kink.

I know I've watched video essays about that 😆
Yes. I just wanted to say that nobody can't escape music even I with my "retro" taste.

(+ if you like bread-tubers I can recommend channel of F.D Signifier. Based dude. Makes great videos about black media.)

It has nothing to do with messages in music or it cultural importance. It's just a matter of preferences. I'm more prog-rock, post-punk 70s, 80s music guy 🤷‍♂️

Oh, yeah! I totally agree on that.
Have you ever watched videos by Lindsay Ellis on that cursed Hobbit movies production and how it's basically fucked up New Zealand movie industry? Horrifying stuff.

I think music is sneakier in a way. It's not in your face but you go out shopping and there is a recent most hyped song playing in a mall. Also you just can't escape popular songs if you ever watch short form content. Like I don't listen to hip hop but I know how that viral Kendrick song sound 😅

Sadly it's not only Hollywood. Same goes for music and game industry and other entertainments. Streamers, VAs, other influencers turn out to be huge pervs etc.
I feel like if you think about it too hard you'll go insane.
Modern people desperately need to unlearn parasociality altogether.

Some of them horrible some more or less fine. It’s a multibillion industry. Would be weird if it was not full of assholes.
I just prefer to watch movies without going into deep on what kind of people those actors and directors are in person. I don’t give them money most of the time anyway 🏴‍☠️

Or you can do thriller. Where Victor tells his story about a monster BUT than we found out that Creature never existed and Victor himself killed his brother 'cause he needed inheritance money to continue his crazy experiments. And a guy who is hunting him is just some victim's relative.
November 18, 2025 at 6:05 PM
Or if you allow queer director in a chair do "repressed homosexuality" version or even "Creature is a metaphor for a trans experience". Essays where written about all this.
Also this book screams for "Rashomon" style where you have different versions of a same events from different POVs. =>

Nah, that's totally legit. A lot of artists consider this type of behavior disrespectful actually.
I personally don't care that much but be saying to myself "Why? Can't you read my tags?"
Also some people (rarely thankfully) do this on pulpous if there's a ship war in fandom 😅

Recently found out that both parts of Frankenstein miniseries from 2004 is on youtube free to watch for everyone!
November 14, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Also people should be allowed just to say “I didn’t like it”, “it’s not for me” without needing to write 30k words essay about reasons why. And most of all not getting called “stupid” for not liking “new viral thing”. It’s just a movie guys, relax.
November 13, 2025 at 3:45 PM
I also think that I did myself a huge disservice by rewatching "Bram Stoker's Dracula" (1992) for Halloween. It set my expectations for "iconic horror book adaptation" way too high. 😅
November 13, 2025 at 3:23 PM
I see some people going crazy over it calling it the "best movie of the year" and I really feel like I'm missing something. So maybe it's just a matter of taste.
Also I'm a bit sad that people immediately forgot about "Sinners" which, I totally agree with critics, was THE best movie of the year.
November 12, 2025 at 5:59 PM
Maybe you did! It's from that time when Hallmark tried to do big "for TV" productions like "The 10th Kingdom", "Dinotopia" or "Merlin".
November 12, 2025 at 5:51 PM
It's biggest flaw probably in trying to make Viktor more sympathetic than he actually is in a book, but I think it would be even more interesting on contrast with del Toro interpretation.
Also it has young Dan Stevens who has very "gay friend with a hopeless crush" vibes 😆

Most faithful adaptation to date actually Frankenstein miniseries (2004). It takes it's own liberties here and there but follows text pretty close. Fan fact Creature even looks kinda similar.

Personally I would like more queer interpretation, more Romanticism era than Victorian.
November 12, 2025 at 3:26 AM
If you're ready for "adaptation in name only" and don't remember book - it's okay movie. Could be more fun though.
Also, if a "mother" looks" at a "child" the way Elisabeth looks at Creature - WORRY.
Only other interpretation can be "religious". But it's whole another spoiler heavy can of worms.

This movie is so weird. Beautiful design but so strangely black and white in it's "Monster is good. Viktor is a real monster" message it's boring.
Also that painfully heterosexual and kinda homophobic?
Idk. Maybe it's just not for me. There are many positive reviews.
