WOW. I've taught diverse groups of adults, and there's no excuse for that. We'd get a list of student names in advance, so there was every chance to check names and pronunciation in advance. Or failing that, get their name in class and write down the phonetic spelling. Glad that teacher got fired!

They're so different from each other, and so many years in between, and both good, I don't think there needs to be the usual controversy about remakes. The '82 Thing is definitely one of my top 5 movies, and favourite SF/horror after Alien.

I’m straight. I don’t see anything wrong with a world where people are more fluid. I can also imagine a time when people change more than once throughout their lives. If it makes them happier, why not? Nobody’s business but their own.

Moments like that are great for highlighting guys who are most likely to be problematic, in my opinion. Once I did a talk about considerations when male teachers have female students, to a room full of males, and the reaction to that was quite illuminating.

Put me down for both, please; the first one is the definitive classic, sure, but the remake is much better than some people seem to think, I like the cast, James Gunn script, and the grungy tone. Also both of these make great respective double bills with the relevant versions of 'The Crazies' :-)

Is the organiser of this petition a transphobe? Just wondering. Because it's playing into their hands.

How about 'Platoon Toons'?

I've had occasion to tread carefully when writing about analog synthesis for similar reasons.

The family resemblance is remarkable :-)

I'm taking it really slowly, and every so often Dreamies come into play :-)
