According to this report, www.usds.gov/impact-repor..., there were 230 people currently serving USDS in 2024. Who knows what role these resignations were from. I would imagine they were higher level, more important, positions.

And since the USDS is real there is a real spot for the head administrator. This position is currently vacant, but Elon says he leads DOGE even though he's technically just a "special gov employee". This is where the confusion in court has arisen about who is really leading DOGE.

That's what I suspected. There is a balance to be struck between sticking around to fight the good fight and leaving because you cannot be a part of what is being done. These folks leaving may mean there is less impedance for Elon, but it may also mean there is even less competence in the work.

The US Digital Service, an existing department, was "rebranded", basically, to create DOGE. So the employees already working for the USDS were now part of DOGE.
