It’s strange that the first time I played this was in the Nintendo store in Shibuya a couple weeks ago. Since then, reception to this game has been… yeah. I think it’ll help with my expectations, but I’m still really excited to finally give this a shot 8 years after it was announced… no pressure.

Here's my top 10 list of what I played in 2025. I was the busiest I ever been this year, so I couldn't quite hit my yearly target of 40 games a year, but what I did play was amazing. Outside of what I played on Switch 2, I didn't touch anything new in 2025, but I'm hoping to catch up in early 2026.

Game Awards is whatever. But the thing that really annoys me is Clair Obscur being in both Indie game categories. Idk man I think the term “Indie” is just a marketing term now. Having like 30+ devs and €15 million budget isn’t Indie, like at all! It’s just unfair to the actual ones on there.

E33 vs Silksong fans are so funny. Why do you care about two games winning a silly award in a show full of nothing but slop and ads? TGA care more about flaunting Hollywood actors instead of putting devs front and centre. Get rid of shit like the adaptation and esports categories too, no one cares.

I finally visited the Dragon Quest Cafe, Luida’s Bar! Food and drink were surprisingly great and everything inside looked gorgeous. We ordered on an iPad and the waiter kept referring to it as a magical stone tablet (lol). I had a Puff! potion and the gf had the Disruptive Wave elixir…

Had a conversation with a Japanese guy called Yuki who was practicing his English. He was really nice and asked me about what games I grew up with. He was surprised I knew what Parappa and Boku No Natsuyasumi were lol. It was depressing to hear that he no longer has time to play games anymore tho :(

Nice man in the Nintendo Store complimented my Kamen Rider shirt and we spoke about it for so long that I completely forgot to ask for a tax free payment. I can only assume that Nintendo purposefully told this man to have lovely conversations with people in order for the Japanese economy to survive.

Bad timing to have never played a Tales of game. There’s a 30th anniversary showcase in this mall I’m in and I’m sad I can’t fully appreciate it with little to no context lol. Might have to finally boot up Symphonia at some point next year.
