Ethiopia ES/NFI Cluster Partner Operational Presence & Monthly Response Monitoring Dashboard for Tigray, as of 30 November 2023
Ethiopia ES/NFI Cluster Partner Operational Presence & Monthly Response Monitoring Dashboard for Tigray, as of 30 November 2023
Country: Ethiopia Sources: Shelter Cluster, UN High Commissioner for Refugees Please refer to the attached Infographic. Overview The Shelter and NFI Cluster is responding to the most critical needs of IDPs, returnees, and affected non-displaced communities in Tigray, despite the resource constraints. The cluster is providing Cash for Rent, Shelter Repair Kits, Emergency Shelters, and ES/NFI distributions to the new arrivals and the not-assisted communities. However, there are still significant gaps and challenges that need to be addressed urgently. There are still influxes of IDPs from the Western and Northwestern zones who lack basic shelter and NFIs but are not assisted due to a lack of resources. More than 1.5 million IDPs in Tigray have returned to their places of origin but thousands have to temporarily live with family or friends or live in their damaged homes, hoping for shelter repair assistance for which the cluster has very limited resources. So far for the Tigray region in 2023, the cluster has reached 676K, (59%) conflict-af- fected people, of which 25% are returnees, 71% IDPs, and 5% non-displaced host community members, leaving a gap of 408K (36%) more to reach in the last month of the year.

Seriously, watching the black academics I admired on Twitter defend the genocide in Tigray with their full chests in 2021 broke me. The disinformation campaigns amplified by publications like Black Agenda Report/Black Alliance for Peace—under the pretense of anti-imperialism—were heinous.
What does genocide sound like? It's turning on TV, picking up newspapers & finding educated scholars, even human rights lawyers, blindly denying widely documented accounts of army rape, providing justification for atrocities, encouraging more war amid mass slaughter.
Images: Soundtrack of genocide.
