[8/8] [I just hope the FOSS community can continue to carve out a non-MS dictated platform. Or maybe I'm destined for ARM.]

[7/8] [Can't say MacOS has given me the same headaches, but I still have an axe to grind with Apple over the Apple II. But they're not nearly as heinous as where Microsoft is steering Windows in their forced march.]

[6/8] Which, truthfully, I've been off of for years (at least for my personal systems; I still get stuck using what work requires me to) now.

[5/8] I'll be updating one of my non-critical systems to Windows 11 (soon, I hope, but I'm working through avoiding TPM/Secure Boot/Microsoft Account/telemetry) as a support testbench, but no more Windows (or MacOS) as primary systems.

[4/8] A couple of warning errors during removal, but try a reboot (now defaulting to the previous kernel) and it comes up. I'll sort the update out later, but back up and running in about 15 minutes with everything else seemingly intact.

[3/8] Linux: Get kernel panic. Boot to GRUB menu and try previous kernel version (still present) in "Recovery Mode". Huh, that worked; maybe the last kernel update is the issue. Go into package manager and remove last kernel.

[2/8] Windows: let it try "Advanced Repair" only to repeatedly fail. Usually takes several minutes and then set to backing up old data/configurations and spending the morning re-installing and trying to reconstruct my previous environment. [Advanced Repair has _never_ worked for me. Useless.]

My favorite rendition, with apologies to Roy.

And, yes, I realize... "first world problem" that's rather inconsequential in these times. About all I watch there (that I can think of) is ABC World News Tonight, and I can pull it off of antenna.

Looks like a potential cover for _Blackburn 2_... well, except the dog may be anomalous..

Full disclosure... not a fan of your take on _Superman_, but I have liked the current season of _Peacemaker_ and the most recent episode took an intriguing turn...

I have such a dichotomy. I generally wince at REO, but I really like "Riding the Storm Out" and "Like You Do", especially with the vocals by Mike Murphy/ So it may be an adverse reaction primarily to Kevin Cronin.

I preferred Genesis' style before _And Then There Were Three_ but still follow.

"Woke Up This Morning", Alabama 3 (_The Sopranos_).

I'm not going to cede my opinions based on history to this. (Actually, _Justice League_ -- either movie version -- showed a positive turn. But the studios killed any continuity for that.)

I liked the first _Guardians_ a lot, but too much of Gunn's work seems "light" or sensationalist. The decimation at the start of _The Suicide Squad_ seemed like "this will be cool, &($# the characters and the fans". As far as _Superman_, reviving a trope from _IV_ made me roll my eyes.

I actually felt pretty good about most in the new movie. Not so much some of the previous (pre-Snyderverse) ones. Especially the way green kryptonite works (which I think Gunn handled well). Portraying Green Lantern as comedy relief did not amuse me. Luther also failed; crazy more than sinister...

Probably impossible to contest opinion on here in 300 character doses. I will say my opinion is based on 65+ years of investment in the character.

People rail against "darker" movies. I disagree. Many of the source stories are dark, and need to be.

Canon amounts to respect for the character...

Finally saw it, but not that way. I admired Reeves for how he respected the part (and more). I found flaws in the "canon". (I followed Superman's universe from the late '50s until the '70s during the Morgan Edge cycle.)

I think Snyder's storytelling is better, if darker. Gunn has not "wowed" me.
