It's easy to denounce Trump's action in Venezuela, especially when you have no power, influence or won't be responsible for the consequences.

I denounce it too.

However, it's action that's key. Slowly but surely cutting the apron strings and moving towards the EU is far, far more important.

This is from the 'Electoral Dysfunction' podcast chaired by Beth Rigby ably assisted by Ruth Davidson and Harriet Harman.

I listened to it about an hour ago and it only cemented my view that Gove is an unmitigated slimy unwiped arse.

Worth a listen though.

The OP was talking about population, so I didn't think I needed to be *that* detailed, but I guess pedants will pedant.

As Comoros, Djibouti and Bahrain are tiny in comparison to Israel, that's hardly surprising!

What on earth do you think that Starmer can do when the US increases prices?

How exactly has he failed the British public?

This is anti-Starmer utter nonsense.

She was arrested under section 13 of the terrorism act.

But her placard was very carefully worded so I expect she'll be assessed to not have broken the law.

That's good, and should be an indicator of what to state on one's placard.

Thanks for reminding me.

For some reason unbeknownst to me, it gives me a real psychological boost when we turn the corner.

Hope you have a lovely time Isobel.

And she LOVES to dress up! (as a transvestite myself, I can definitely see the appeal)

It sounds delicious, but do remember that this genie can never get forced back into the bottle …

Again, I agree, but there's a but.
We both know that any mention of FoM alongside more prosaic benefits such as improvements to non-tariff barriers would result in apoplexy is the Sun, Telegraph, Mail and Express, and hence BBC.
The endeavour would sink before launch (or lunch).

I agree with all your points and rejoining should be the end point.
But Ms Creasy's right when she suggests that will take years, isn't she?
A staged approach seems to me to be sensible, but it needs to be moving much faster.

An excellent article (IMO).
I'm very much in the 'rejoin' camp, but this approach does make a lot of sense.

I have, but you know, I don't hold much sway.
The enemies are Farage and Badenoch.

Your enemy isn't Labour.
December 5, 2025 at 12:18 AM
The 'plying dirty' refers to Polanski posting on Creasy’s local FB group totally misrepresenting her stance on Labour's migration policy. Creacy is ferociously against it (as Polanski well knows), but he implied that she supports it.

Well, that's only one option. You could choose to have utilities run autonomously apart from government in a similar manner to the Bank of England.

You do exactly the same as with private management. You change the management. IMO there is no difference between public and private, other than where the profit goes.
