god i dropped a quick fagccent to compliment a hospital worker's hair (i accidentally said her whole look is cute and didn't want to make her uncomfortable so i gayed it up in tone and body language). casey thought it was so funny because he didn't realize i am an expert vs it just slipping out

it also was the smoothest process. i was just chill about it and accepted whatever came my way and tweaked it until it looked good if it looked off... the only one i ever adjusted was abandoning the reference for my salmon nigiri

the literal hardest thing about pixel art is my brain coming up with everything because due to canvas limitations i often have to make creative decisions... why is it so exhausting LOL???? my froggy rain one was the most taxing because i didn't have a single reference and just made it all up but

the only other time i tried pixel art btw the characters were like this but more detailed (this was my first crack at pixel art in the last decade while watching coraline)

ran out of words but i can make some characters really accurately to themselves on one maker and then another character has NOTHING going for them. but the style was so cute. devastating

i would love to be able to work further on this and do my visual novel in pixel art tho... we shall see. i'm just happy to be creating outside of developing lore and i am sick of picrew not being able to create my visions 😭😭😭😭 the options for hair texture are so limited it's hard to make a full set

i've drawn two pixel art things before that i liked as a teen but didn't continue for some reason??? so this is my baby journey. it hurts my brain tho bc they are largely without reference (cd most referenced actually but i had limitations n took liberties... my least fav)

their "wait, no, look" initially led them to send the most ABOMINABLE picture of a big cartoon joker smile i've ever seen...

they say "you smile really big and cute like a cartoon character" (he's not wrong i smile and laugh a LOT) but no longer references the joker. LOL 🥰

casey once said "you look like a cartoon... like the joker" 🫥

if not for knowing that they LOVE the joker and cartoons and also literally will see a delapidated graffiti'd shack in the middle of the country and be like "WOW 😍" i would have taken great insult.

i was saying today it's like he's a person in the body of a cat. he's so intellectually and emotionally intelligent... he has started alerting ON HIS OWN when a health issue is about to happen and plays nurse if i'm in extreme pain (purring, chirping, and rubbing on me; it actually helps)

i know how he does it too the only possibility is that he's turning around and kicking it as fast and as hard as he can. he's actually insane for this he's too fucking smart
