Life has thrown some tough challenges my way, especially after being run over by a car thief in 2016. I live with daily chronic pain that makes even simple tasks feel monumental. As I navigate my disability journey amidst a government shutdown, I find myself relying on my cane more than ever, while also supporting my elderly grandparents as best as I can. It’s a struggle, but I’m determined to keep pushing forward. Right now, I’m doing what I can to make ends meet, donating plasma to cover bills and medications, but food banks are becoming a necessity. I’m reaching out in hopes of finding a little support, whether through sharing my story or a small contribution. I believe that a person's wisdom, if they have any, should be left to future generations to measure against their own circumstances. If a person lives beyond their time and attempts to impose old notions upon new generations they put themselves in very grave danger of loosing any claim to wisdom at all.

I lost my job in early July, and it was hard to find that one. Unfortunately, is it a horrible company that didn't care for employees or customers. I am handicapped and walking with a cane. It hurts to stand, but I can and will and for eight hours. I want to work, and I try to help my grandparents, they are in their 80s. My grandmother had breast cancer and my grandfather has bladder cancer that spread. I need help, and it hurts that I can't do a lot. On the edge of my sanity's break, where others' dishonesty unfurls, Like tendrils of smoke that weave through the skies, A tempest of doubt, a shadow that twirls, Grips the heart in its cold, dark disguise. The lips of the world, once soft with a vow, Now crack and distort in the lies that they weave, A tapestry frayed, and I tremble, not knowing how To trust the illusions they cunningly leave. Yet in the stillness, where truth once did gleam, I search for a flicker, a whisper of light, For though the storm clouds on reason may steam, There’s a spark, though distant, that dances in night. What are we, if not lost in this haze? Grasping for clarity, though blurred by the maze. Still, a heart that is faithful shall find its way, For even in shadows, the stars dare to sway.
