Today's post celebrates our two marches-protests in Santa Barbara, yesterday March 1: around 225 people at the "Fire Musk" protest at our local Tesla dealership, and it must have been over one thousand people standing with our trans community at De La Guerra Plaza. I’ve been thinking a lot about written language and how in many ways it is modeled after physical gestures.

I love the streamlined simplicity of symbols. So I’ve created 3 different versions of a card deck. The deck is meant to serve as artistic prompts.

I believe that artist-run, nonprofit organizations have been a vehicle for people to build pride, solidarity, skills and social power. When artists support each other structurally, things get exciting. I've seen this be the case for black artists, queer artists, women artists and rural artists.
