Democrats revive package of bills to clamp down on fracking
The legislation would close the "Halliburton Loophole" and strengthen other regulations on oil and gas production.

Under the Republican shutdown, health insurance premiums are skyrocketing, critical services have been disrupted, & public servants are working without pay.

And where are House Republicans? Nowhere to be found.

The American people deserve public servants who show up to fight for them.

Had a great meeting with the Denver Young Dems last night.

We had an energizing conversation about this week's big Democratic wins and what’s ahead as we keep building momentum for 2025 and beyond.

House Republicans have been on a taxpayer-funded vacation since mid-September while millions of Americans are paying the price for their inaction.

Democrats haven’t stopped working. We've been in Washington every week during this shutdown ready to reopen the government & lower costs for families.

Donald Trump found hundreds of millions to build a ballroom at the White House. Meanwhile, he is refusing to provide a dime to keep Americans from going hungry.

He would rather leave children, seniors, and families hungry than negotiate a bipartisan agreement to reopen the government.
November 4, 2025 at 8:27 PM
Donald Trump has spent more time golfing than figuring out how to reopen the government.

Meanwhile, House Republicans have been on a five-week vacation.

Democrats? We're in Washington week after week, ready, willing, and able to reopen the government and lower health care costs.
October 31, 2025 at 6:56 PM
The government has been shut down for 30 days, and Donald Trump and House Republicans are nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile, supplemental food assistance is about to expire and health care prices are skyrocketing.

It’s time to stop the vacation and start governing.

For months, Democrats have been sounding the alarm about the Republican-forced health care crisis.

Costs are already too high under Donald Trump, and now hundreds of thousands of Coloradans will be forced to choose between staying on their health care or buying groceries.

We are heading into a health care crisis of the Republicans’ making.

Republicans need to work with us to find a path forward that reopens the government while making health care more accessible and more affordable.

And I am ready to work with my colleagues to get this done.
October 24, 2025 at 2:32 PM
Between the Big Bad Bill & Republican's short-sighted refusal to extend ACA premium assistance, Coloradans will see a 28% increase in insurance premiums.

Last year, it was 5.6%.

This is unacceptable.

We should be making it easier for people to get health insurance, not harder & more expensive.

Colorado Congresswoman Diana DeGette held a press conference with the Colorado Insurance Commissioner, warning about rising health care costs if subsidies are not extended.

Trump & Republicans don’t care about you.

Rather than lower costs or open the government, they're giving a massive bailout to Argentina, buying new private jets, and building a ballroom at the White House. Speaker Johnson even refuses to bring the House back so they can't release the Epstein Files.

Great to join Colorado Black Round Table at the Zions Senior Center for No Kings Day to talk about what’s at stake for our democracy, our freedoms, and our future.

Donald Trump and Republicans slashed Medicaid in the Big Bad Bill while handing tax breaks to billionaires.

Now they’ve shut down the government instead of stopping massive premium hikes—then skipped town for another week.

It’s time for them to get back to work and reopen the government.
October 17, 2025 at 4:45 PM
While troops & public servants in CO & across the country worry about missing paychecks, House Republicans are planning another week off.

Americans are right to blame them for jacking up health care costs, shutting down the government, & taking a vacation.

It’s time for them to get back to work.
October 15, 2025 at 1:13 PM
Across the country, families are seeing the real cost of Trump and Republicans’ health care sabotage.

ACA shoppers are already facing steep price hikes — a glimpse of what happens if Republicans let premium tax credits expire.

Democrats are fighting to keep coverage affordable.

Republicans shut down the government instead of extending premium tax credits.

Now, millions face a 114% increase in health care costs.

Republicans should stop trying to make life even worse for Americans. They need to finally negotiate so we can reopen the government and lower health care costs.
October 8, 2025 at 2:29 PM
Democrats and most Americans agree: We want to quickly reopen the government while addressing the Republican health care crisis and lowering costs for working families across America.

Each day Republicans wait, costs will go up, thousands of Americans will go without care, & people will die.
October 7, 2025 at 2:45 PM
Under the GOP's health care plans:

202,000+ Coloradans could lose their health care.

207,000+ million more face skyrocketing premiums.

But instead of extending ACA tax credits or protecting Medicaid, Republicans would rather shut down the government and make you pay the price.
October 6, 2025 at 1:45 PM
Trump and the GOP know they're on the wrong side of the fight for affordable health care.

Now, they are lying to the American people with false claims about undocumented immigrants and health care.
FACT FOCUS: Democrats did not shut down the government to give health care to 'illegal immigrants'
This is false. Democrats say they are pushing for the inclusion of key health care provisions in the next congressional spending package.

The government shuts down in 8 hours.

House Democrats and I are in Washington, fighting to keep it open & lower health care costs.

House Republicans? On vacation.

They’d rather shut down than show up.
September 30, 2025 at 7:50 PM
Government funding runs out in 4 days. But instead of working with Democrats to keep the government open, Donald Trump threw an unhinged temper tantrum and canceled bipartisan negotiations.

If there’s a shutdown, the blame rests squarely on Trump & the GOP.
September 26, 2025 at 4:11 PM
Republicans delayed the fallout of their Big Bad Bill until after the election because they know voters would never accept it.

We see through the game, and we can take action next November.

So good to see all my friends this weekend at the @denverdemocrats.org meeting!

I’m grateful for your tireless organizing to keep Denver blue and move Colorado forward.

Democrats are committed to lowering costs—for health care and across the board.

We need Republicans to stop their reckless policies that are driving up prices and work with us to make life more affordable.
