The mansion was converted to an hotel in 1866, was used by the Ministry of Food during WW2 and more recently becoming Rydal Penrhos school.

They made their home in Pwllycrochan mansion creating parkland in an area now known as Pwllycrochan Avenue.

In the early 19th century Jane Silence Williams inherited the extensive Pwllycrochan estate which today forms much of present day Colwyn Bay. She married Sir David Erskine of Cambo, Fife in 1821 to become Lady Erskine.

Mafia leader Llewellyn Morris Humphreys, better known as Murray the Hump, is the 3rd cousin of Lord Dafydd Wigley.

Lord Wigley is a former Caernarfon MP and AM, who served as the leader of Plaid Cymru, and is now a member of the House of Lords. His distant relative was one of America's most feared underworld bosses.

This afternoon we have been setting up, getting everything ready for the Open Day. Also, delicious cakes have been baked in preparation for the event too.👍
