It’ll still be a net gain for them in Texas ,realistically. But even if it only puts them +3, they didn’t expect California to fight back the way they did, so they’ll lose seats overall. Let’s hope for the best.

If they get to use these new maps, Republicans have five more house seats in Texas than they otherwise would have.
If they don’t…they won’t have those seats.

Either Texas will get to use the new maps the redrew mid-decade (unusual) after Trump demanded it, OR they will uphold the lower court’s ruling that they are unlawful due to potential racial discrimination in the newly drawn districts. They’d have to redraw & would be too late for 2026 midterms.
