Northern hemisphere count? Here's a freshwater wetland in Louisiana in December. Fun fact - gross primary productivity during the day flatlines. The leaves might be green but there's not much gas being taken up by them (unless my sensors are being funny!)

🧪 Northern freshwater is turning brown from elevated organic carbon + iron. Peatland drainage (for forestry 🌲) and climate change are impacting water quality, recreation 🏊, and water treatment costs 💰. BUT sustainable forest management can combat this issue! Read more: tinyurl.com/brownification
