in dreams, i think of you. my heart, she looked into the dismal eyes of night to find her way to you. the warmth of sunlight fills, like wine, my being through the memory it brings of that i’d spent with you. the moon is full tonight, her light should tint us blue. the drink then warms our soul; my lips connect to you. the color of the air; the sweetest morning dew; a breath at daybreak’s end; in these i still feel you. we dance until the dawn, our secret rendezvous that ends so bittersweet as i depart from you. in winter, time grows short til life begins anew. the nights would last a lifetime; more to spend with you. beloved, cant you see the meaning in my truth? what once was lost to me, may i now find in you.

the flock had settled in the water, icy blue, when one of them would turn and seek a better view. another came beside and asked, “why do you think to wander such a ways away from where we drink?” “ive seen the sights around this spot before, you see; though i dont wish to flee, i’d like to see the sea.” “but here the sea is all around,” the left one cried. “you surely do not mean to sail without a guide?” the right one simply swam away at leisure’s pace. “at least if we would swim as one we might find grace.” the two would make their way across the open sea and settle in the shade of one grand, ancient tree. the left one asked again, “so why have we come here? we’ve not gone far, for i can see the others clear as day, in fact the day has not yet broken out in all the time it took to contemplate our route.” the right one, first in silence, bathing in the sun, “had you considered i might want to be round none?” “but if the flock should fly away while you were here, then how would it not serve to fill you full of fear?” “as you yourself have noted, they are still in view; were they to leave me here would i have need of you? the path that brought us here, to silence it should lead, but all your worry brought the sound i’d wished to leave. please sit and listen with me now to what the wind and waves upon the sea would ask you to rescind.” the birds then sat together, contemplating on the silence all around until the flock had gone. for one more little moment did the right one sit and listen to the music that the world emits. and as the flock would make their way towards the north, the two were always found conjoined as one henceforth. and when the flock would rest upon another lake, the two would seek out silence, peaceful in its wake.

i made my way along the way that led me to an ancient lake, where i had found you, sleeping there. another day would come and go, another moon would rise and fall, and there the leaves, like golden hair reminded me of you again. and in the arms of my beloved, still i felt the love we share. another year and more would wander past my heart, before i found you, where we laughed without a care.

solemnly sauntering down the aisle in reddish-hued fashion that, to my aching eye, carried an elegant, dangerous feeling, the look in hers would say quite the opposite. yet the same sight would still give another girl pause, in which she might find something else to fear. in fairness, dressing up seems to stupefy those that cant find the words inside empty hearts. still as the resting swan, i would wait for her at the end of the aisle, carried by the grace afforded to my heartfelt yearning in the midst of angels, even one standing before me. the heavenly voice that matched the face ahead seemed itself to carry a tune, lilting and catching on words that, when taken as a whole, lent itself quite the divinely rhythmic pulse. i recognized it there, seeking only to sing in time, harmony and rhyme as fellows one might be tempted to take to bed; alas, i had been too ensnared to catch what she said.
