Can't help but think about how twenty five years ago some dude failed at making a shoe bomb and now we have to deal with airport security theater forever but five years ago there was a global pandemic that killed millions that is still active and now masks are banned, and how the difference is $$

We're told the FDA is now making plans to end most of its routine food safety inspections

That oversight work would be effectively outsourced to state and local authorities, under this plan

TIL the US is the only 'developed' country that doesn't require businesses to pay VAT - no wonder hiding profits in low-taxed offshore accounts is so effective

The pandemic never ended you just stopped feeling bad about putting others at risk and didn’t want disruption to your status quo.

We have to make intentional moves to decrease reliance on corporations, refocusing on our communities and building LOCAL supports.

We’ll share actions each week you can take to get us closer to a STRIKE.

If you’re able to mask & choose not to, please understand you’re making it easier for politicians to pass mask bans. Fasicsm thrives on apathy and “othering”

Mask bans hurt an othered group the most… disabled people

Please wear a mask in solidarity. If we normalize masks they become harder to ban!

You should care about disability justice because it’s the right thing to do. There’s no justice without inclusion.

If that doesn’t convince you, remember that everyone is only temporarily abled.

If you live long enough, you’ll become disabled. It can happen in an instant & no one is the exception.

I currently have the worst manager of my career and it may ruin my life. That sounds dramatic but I can't think of any other way to explain it.

Tired of seeing people struggle while big corporations squeeze more and more out of us. I’m building a collection of resources to help people live well without playing by their rules. Mostly because I want to feel like I have control over my life, but maybe it'll help others too.

Since the start of COVID, the number of people reporting a disability soared. Yet the majority of the world acts like COVID is over, and Long COVID doesn't exist.

if you buy used books and want to avoid amazon where possible, check out bookfinder.com

you can search essentially every marketplace in one go

so you can, e.g., find the same used copy for sale, from the same seller, on biblio.com or ebay instead of amazon or abe (owned by amazon)

ANYWAY, did you know there's an extension you can put on Chrome that will connect with your local library system and when you go look at a book, say on AMZ, it will tell you if that book exists in the library system and if it's available?

It's literally called Library Extension.

Many people take their health for granted. They look at those of us with disabilities & think they’re better than us. We deserved it. We want to be sick. We’re not trying hard enough.

They believe they will be the exception, and that belief drives them to take risks 🧵
