Years ago, 9 Irish trainee accountants got lost in New York. A man gave us directions and then asked us would we like to go to an art show. When we got there, he said there’s Carly Simon, I’ll introduce you. We queued up, she was very gracious and we admitted to no one that we were accounts.

Not any particular line, just the idea that anyone could turn around after years of terrible behaviour and say “You were always on my mind” AND GET AWAY WITH IT.

And I hate the implication (not for the first time) that losing to Italy is the bottom of the barrel.
