So, creators, remember to bring originality and value to your content. Transform and add your unique touch to repurposed materials. Understanding YouTube's policy on reused content is important to maintain compliance and continue monetizing your creative work! 💪💻 💰
October 3, 2023 at 6:36 AM
Lastly, promoting other people's content for monetization is also not allowed, even if you have permission. Keep in mind that this list of examples is not exhaustive. It's crucial to be aware of the types of content that violate the reused content guidelines.
October 3, 2023 at 6:35 AM
To give you an idea, monetization is not allowed for clips of moments from your favorite show with no narrative, short videos compiled from other social media sites (eg Twitch Clips Highlights), collections of songs from different artists (even with permission), or content uploaded multiple times.
October 3, 2023 at 6:35 AM
On the other hand, let's talk about what violates this guideline. Taking someone else's content, making minimal changes, and calling it your own is a big no-no, even if you have permission from the original creator. Reused Content is not about copyright or fair use. 🚫
October 3, 2023 at 6:34 AM
However, remember that these examples of allowed monetization may still be subject to other policies like copyright. Reused content is separate from YouTube's copyright enforcement. So, make sure you're in compliance with all relevant policies.
October 3, 2023 at 6:34 AM
Additionally, you can monetize remixed content on Shorts, where you add original content to a song from YouTube's library or incorporate original audio or video segments from other videos. It's all about transforming the content and making it your own! 🎶
October 3, 2023 at 6:34 AM
For example, you can monetize by using clips for a critical review, rewriting dialogues and changing voiceovers in movie scenes, explaining moves in sports tournament replays, reacting to original videos, or adding storylines and commentary to edited footage from others.
October 3, 2023 at 6:34 AM
Now, what's allowed to monetize? The idea is to reward creators for original and authentic content that adds value to viewers. If you put a funny or thoughtful spin on the content you didn’t create, that's okay! But there has to be a meaningful difference from the original. 🌟
October 3, 2023 at 6:33 AM
The policy applies to your entire channel, not just individual videos. If many of your videos violate this guideline, monetization may be removed from your entire channel or applications to the YouTube Partner Programm denied. It's important to understand the impact it can have on your channel.
October 3, 2023 at 6:33 AM
Reused content refers to channels that repurpose someone else's content without adding significant original commentary or educational value. Basically, if you don't bring something new to the table, it's a no-go. This policy is relevant for YouTube creators of all genres.

There is no fastlane to becoming a successful Creator. Only good Content, that audiences want to watch matter.

Do you agree or disagree? Let's talk about it!

As a moderator for the YouTube and YouTube Gaming Discord Servers, I see at least 200 Accounts banning themselves for self-promo per day, effectively cutting themselves off of crucial communication lines in case of emergency & information exchange about new product launches. It's really sad to see.
