I am defaulticus.
If you want to say you’ve *proved* it, then yes you need a test. Which is what science is. Proving things, with evidence.

And proof is the first step in convincing people. Which, seemingly, you want to do. So I don’t know why you’re being so critical of these scientists. They’re your ally.

The fact they did this experiment implies they at least suspected it would work. They weren’t scratching their heads going “whaaa?! I thought they loved it in their cage?”

Scientifically though, everything requires proof. You can’t just go “I reckon the mice would fancy a stroll outside.”

Apparently she left halfway through, so, I guess she figured that out on her own.

Where I live (San Antonio) the trains are already about as long as you can fit into the station, so if you went single level you’d either have fewer seats or trains that don’t fit. In San Marcos they already have to stop at the station twice, once for coach and then again for the sleepers.

I’m pretty sure heating in cold cities uses much more energy than AC in hot ones. Most people can survive in a 40 degree home or a 90 degree one but it’s pretty spartan to expect them to.

I think they intend to have it inserted into the current route between the existing stops in Marshall and Texarkana. Shreveport is only 35 miles east of Marshall so I don’t think it’s going all the way to Mississippi. But I also didn’t recognize the smaller towns names.

Why do you think that?

It isn’t, actually. Technically they’re deployed to garrison and defend federal facilities, which is legal.

It’s also illegal for a soldier to refuse to obey a legal order so they can’t just decide they don’t believe in the mission and refuse to go. But they can roll their eyes and eat their donut.

Sure maybe but the order to the soldiers is just to deploy, which is not an illegal order for them to obey. They’re not supposed to be lawyers, they’re just trained to know specific things they can’t do, like shoot civilians. Deployment isn’t one of those things.

Maybe, if they get one, they will. But so far they’ve been deployed to places and ordered to stand around eating donuts, emptying trash cans, cleaning graffiti, etc., because there isn’t actually a war for them to fight. None of those things are actually illegal orders.

ICE signed up to deport people. The national guard did not. It’s a part-time job who’s recruiting pitch is that you help clean up after hurricanes and tornadoes, and *maybe* fight if there’s ever a defensive war on US soil. They didn’t join to occupy it. So let them stand around eating donuts.

It’s a shame the whole thing doesn’t go at the speeds it attains in Austin, Kyle and Buda; it’d be only about an hour and a half if it could keep that up.
