I curled around you, melted into
you, breathed you in until I wasn’t sure where I ended and you began.
And it was there, in the stillness of the night, that I was full.

Hunger nawed at the cavern in my stomach, not for food, but something more.
I crept up the stairs, anticipation thrummed in my body.
You were there, sprawled out
on the mattress, limbs tangled with the blankets. Your snores cut through the silence.

Mine are usually in my lap when I’m trying to write. There’s something about a laptop that they love 😂
