Edit/collage done with a photo from my childhood, as i was four years old, kneeling and grabbing daffodils in a flower field. Edited to look like an old photograph, with added fairy wings, mushrooms, quotes, on a lace doily as a background. Top left corner quote says: this summer i spent a lot of time sleeping with my head in a pool of moonlight. Bottom quote says: we look at the world once, in childhood. the rest is memory. Original poetry in a typewriter font, on a background edit of sepia burnt paper, spider web, moth. The poem goes: I used to hide in the thickets with books of long-forgotten stories and pretendings, Imagining that the house that i lived in wasn’t a humid, thick aired bell jar, Selves pinned like butterflies, trapped with the residual hauntings Of my mother’s moods, nettles nested at the foot of a pine-less cedar. I used to hide in the thickets and let the leaves cover me, growing roots all afternoon, Lie there empty, in the underbrush, dreaming of suicide in the thickness of summer, I would wait for the night to fall over me, to wrap me in a star-knit blanket, dreaming of infinite fields of grass, under the faint glow of the moon, I was the two-headed calf destined for slaughter, Oblivious to the sacrifice that was waiting at the gate.

☞ june of fairies, writing, notebooks, slowness, dreams. i was looking for a new notebook to use for commonplacing, mostly for quotes, poetry and such, accidentally came out with two instead of one but i'm so in love with these *gollum voice* my pretties 🦷🗝✉️🌙
