Superb piece by @jamesbloodworth.bsky.social in this month's @bylinetimes.bsky.social mag: "Britain's Media Has Let Nigel Farage Reshape Political Journalism - Why?" This article alone was worth my annual sub to one of the very few news outlets still doing proper journalism

Wait so it will become *mandatory* for everyone to own a smartphone? Have they thought that through?

But according to this guy, £74K household income is enough to pay for private schooling. So that fake news article family on £345K must be easily able to cover the fees!

It think it's not Bluesky but an independent labeller. They've done it to me too, just because I have the hashtag FBPE, I suspect. It's a bit like the wild west and I think Bluesky will have to rethink this way of working.

All true, but unfortunately the Guardian itself isn't averse to casually bandying this misleading word about. Here we have a "landslide" headline about an election in which more people voted for other parties than did for the winning one.

If you want to do something about *all this*, then one thing you can do is support the endangered species called fearless independent journalism. My copy of @bylinetimes.bsky.social dropped onto my doormat today and it's one of the high points of my month

I wonder if the helicopter pilots actually use this chart to follow the altitude restrictions? The 300 feet is for the other route but written very close to the route 1 the helicopter was on. Closer in fact than the 200 foot marking for route 1

How does he get away with such misrepresentation as this? Never mind fact checking social media - newspapers should not be allowed to publish such things (even labelled as "opinion")

Fixed it

Bits of gold.
In a drink.
What sort of absolute fucking headcase would do that, or think it was a neat idea?
I'm getting a sieve and straining the stupid stuff off

Yes it's generally lacking nuance to use the word landslide when reporting on FPTP type elections
