How will Pandora be fit into Disney California Adventure? Well, here’s my theory. I believe that Disney will use theater facades to transport us into the world of Avatar from within Hollywood Land! Here’s my speculative map of how it will be placed in the park.

But wait! There’s more! While not a Universal project, there is another hotel coming to the area! The Hilton Universal City is expanding with an 18-story 395 room addition to the existing hotel! The project is intended to be completed before the highly anticipated 2028 Olympic Games.

The fillings indicate that if this hotel is constructed, it will feature 500 rooms. I also suspect we will see a Hollywood style facade on this building similar to the Universal Studios Grand Hotel in Beijing.

👀 Here is a full colorized depiction of the 11 story hotel permits filled for Universal Hollywood. While not everything in this may be 100% accurate, it gives us a rough idea of what the impact of this new hotel will be on the existing entrance experience. Could we see a 2024 ground breaking?

Over the past decade we have seen a steady decline in commitment to thematic integrity within Disney’s resort hotels. While this hotel is certain to be a very nice offering, we can’t help but sigh at this continuing theme 🙁

The tower will also bring another restaurant offering to the resort! Named the “Wailulu Bar and Grill.”Featured in the space will be Polynesian-inspired artwork which will included tropical fish sculptures crafted from recycled materials and “reclaimed” fishing nets. 🐟🐠

😁 One element of the tower we are excited about are the four unique terrace gardens that provide stunning views across the Seven Seas lagoon. Each garden will feature tropical foliage, art work, and cozy places to take in the views!
