Electors vote for whoever the district voted for and ultimately since most states are winner take all, the popular vote is all that matters for most states for a pres election. There’s not a case where districts are swaying who wins the state. Obviously it matters a lot for a congressional race.

I didn’t say racism is done, I replied to a person saying that the electoral college relies on racist gerrymandering which isn’t true for presidential races. I also live in the South, but having traveled a lot, racism isn’t really “better” anywhere in the country. It’s just different.

I don’t think she was in public enough saying what she believed. She wanted it to be ambiguous so that moderates felt safe voting for her (they didn’t anyway). She took an incredibly safe approach that didn’t work.

That’s not the point. My point is that this isn’t a case of racist punching down when we’re talking about one of the most powerful people on the planet, some staffer or something. She had agency and the ability to run a far better campaign as the nominee.
