honorable mention goes to Leman Russ, who i don't particularly care about, but who is the namesake of THEE tank whose miniature initially drew me into 40k and is therefore responsible for all of this. They Called Her The Ship Of Dreams And She Really Was

but first place of my heart is Sanguinius. he's a Mega-Catholic. he's an angel. he's a vampire. he's a classic 80s anime pretty boy. he's a martyr. he's like ten feet tall. he was crafted in a lab (literally) to appeal to me. the Imperium is right about one guy and it's him. INCREDIBLY stupid name.

second place, by a slim margin i might add, is Angron. this is peak 40k to me. stupidest name imaginable, heart-wrenching pathos, insane overall levels of radness. he had multiple chainsaw axes and he never had a chance. he IS the moment, and he IS serving, and he IS what Warhammer 40k is all about.

Lorgar Aurelian comes in third. it was soooo cunty of him to obtain daemon princedom and promptly fuck off to meditate forever after that shit he did before. all he wanted was the truth. the most babygirl of the Primarchs. i want to wring his throat. 10/10.

Fourth, we have Roboute Guilliman, the only name whose spelling i had to double-check. he's a good character the internet is just mean. man who loves to write War Rules in a game about War Rules is a great concept and Roboute is generally executed pretty well. tragic and doing his best. love him.

Number Five, the Arch-Heretic himself, Horus Lupercal. is he always well executed in the fiction/lore? no. but he's got the narrative punch, the biblical and epic echoes, and the stupid failboy spirit to still be one of my beloveds. and he DOES also have A Warhammer. title drop!

and finally some misc. Friday and Aspen, OCs; and icons done for @candaru.bsky.social's Masks game, of the characters Beatrice and Finbar, who i did not design and cannot take credit for the cuteness of.
