Eyeries Cascades, nearby on the Kealincha River.

There's still some residual oak, rowan, willow, and other native tree species around, but I can't help imagining how magical this must have been when it was enclosed in thick, wild Atlantic rainforest.

Without sheep, it could be again.

A very old oak in Dereen Garden, Kerry. When it started life, the area likely still belonged to the O'Sullivan Beares, before English colonialists took it by force in the mid-17th century and cleared the rainforest.

Just like Palestine now, land theft, racist genocide, & ecocide went hand in hand.
