Dinner was done at 1 but I needed a 2nd wind before I started on the pumpkin cheesecake.
So I had to make a quick peach cobbler before these, it was gone in 5 minutes🤤

Sautéed the turkey gizzards & neck & some skin in anchovies oil for Zeus and of course he loves it

I got up & got out in that madness and it paid off, I grabbed the last one in the store. I've never done more than a 12lb turkey but now Im prepared for any large meats🤭

Blending scraps of leftover chicken with some fish scraps I was gifted for Zeus. Then mixed in some mashed sweet potato, carrot and egg. Rolled it into small flat circles and baking them now. Homemade cat food! Salmon oil as a dressing.

In honor of my mother, who was a Christmas lover, my house will be oozing with holiday decor.
It's gonna be bad, so bad that the house will seem naked in January.
Love you Mama

It's that time of the year! Bringing my childhood back with this

I know it says thaw in fridge, but that's a lie. Take the turkey outta the freezer 2 days before. Let it sit on the countertop for at least 4-6 hours if your kitchen isn't hot. Marble counter is a plus.
Then put it in the fridge and let it thaw completely. Then marinade for 6-8 hours with this

A lot of my generation has 1 boomer & 1 Silent Gen parent. I dont even know what my grandma's generation is called, but I know her mother & grandma was born into slavery.

I bought high quality winter coats for a steal of a price last year. I told everyone about it and my daughters & a couple of friends got one too.
I tried to look for the same coat this year as a gift and it's nowhere to be found, but I did find this similar coat on the manufacturer website for $$$😯

In less than 5 minutes my next door neighbor went from looking forward to the holidays to being homeless for the holidays😪
The fire started quickly but he was able to get out safe.
He said he had a space heater going.
I know we're all trying to save money on bills, but go ahead & turn the furnace on

I love cast iron but this part of owning them sucks. I'm re seasoning them before gotta cook a big dinner again but I ran out of lard so I used vegetable oil, now I regret it

It's the golden time of day with my beautiful boy
November 12, 2025 at 8:52 PM
My daughter has only been writing since she was 10. Before that, she hated holding a pen/crayon etc. Why? Because we kept trying to "correct" the way she held them.
No more. I let her do her thing! And look, my autist is an artist

This was so awesome! I got a goat shank entree with seasoned rice and plantain for $5, it was fresh & enough for 2 portions.
I grabbed a surprise bag from a bakery for the elderly couple down the street too. 2 soups & 2 pastries for $5 from a bougie coffee shop downtown.
November 8, 2025 at 6:33 PM
Why cant I have minor inconveniences like everybody else? I leveled off my tire pressure on the truck and went to pick up boxes for some elderly when this happened.
Not only popped the tire, punctured the rim. My truck is rare so a new rim is $125 instead of $50.
Im going to bed after all this

My handsomest boy! We outside

This is desperation. Why would anyone apply for a card from a store when Apple Pay, Klarna and Affirm exist? 80 pages of crap I really dont need during a time when need vs want is the center of attention.
No thanks, Christmas gift buying is canceled this year.

Most people see too much bread. I see about 12 French bread pizzas.
Courtesy of the local food bank.
Going for as little waste as possible and whatever is wasted goes to compost.
Gotta grab some freezer bags & chop up these peppers.

At one point they were rare but now every house in the city needs a tank to avoid flooded basements. Why?
Because the city/state allowed new construction to decimate native plants & trees. Those roots maintained water where the sewer system couldn't. But hey, strip malls & housing

The tomatoes!!! Frying em up for dinner tonight
October 29, 2025 at 3:32 PM
Detroit farmers are stepping up in a big way, giving away free produce from their crops
Everything was fresh picked today! The tomatoes are divine, gonna chop and freeze some and make some sauce

Between 2010 and 2016, the city overrated homeowners in the amount of 600 million. Thos caused foreclosures and displacement, and especially homeless.
Both candidates for mayor were asked how they would help Detroiters who's lives were upturned by the overassessment.
