Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter

This remake was fantastic, I’m so glad Falcom made it and hopefully a lot of new players will get sucked in!

There were certainly questionable localization changes, but ultimately I see that as an inevitability to an extent and it didn’t bother me much.

Looking at the Kisekidle stats, it’s really clear that Rean is consistently the most-first-guessed character for the Character puzzle.

The data is messed up for certain days looking at the player counts, but Rean consistently has over 25% of the players guessing him, which I don’t see w/ others.

I’m gonna have to #spoiler tag this one, but I’d like to talk about it a bit.

The “family” I’ll be talking about is Osborne, Rean, and Lianne.

Lianne Sandlot, as she dies: “Perhaps it was just my own foolish musings… but I’ve found myself thinking that if I had a son, I would want him to be like you” Lianne, satisfied after seeing Osborne from afar with Kasia and baby Rean, knowing he’s Dreichels Osborne to Rean at the end of CSIV: “I’ll forever be grateful we had this chance… to finally meet as father and son.” This one line from Lianne has truly defined my love for this dynamic, but I’ve thought a lot on it since. Sure, Rean already has enough parents to go around, but I like the idea of Lianne as another mother figure to him. I truly think her and Rean would get along swimmingly if they ever had the opportunity to really be close, and every scene with them is so sweet. I wish for a world where after Osborne regained his memories of Dreichels, he could’ve continued to raise Rean with Lianne and there could’ve been peak. I also really like the messy family between Rean and Osborne, though in reality I wouldn’t really call that the best family dynamic in Trails 😂

It’s nice to see what categories some people do better & worse at than others each day! Different things are more memorable to some than others.
I didn’t immediately recall the line, but I started thinking through which characters would call Machias or Carl “Regnitz.” After that, when just Jusis and Neithardt (or other military personnel, but Machias would have few interactions with them) came to mind, the scene popped into my head and it clicked. As it turns out looking through the database, the only characters to refer to Machias like that are Jusis, Neithardt, and Ash (who I totally forgot tends to use people’s last names).

I never share Trails theories bc I can’t substantially research them w/out danger of spoilers and don’t like to rely on just my memory, plus there’s an information imbalance from those who have played ahead, but this one time w/ support for what I’ve theorized for as long as I can recall:
