Thief of Blood would like a word!

Bonds of Mortality sort of embodies the idea of "deserves a home". Dodging board wipes is one of the strongest things I see happening in modern commander on a regular basis. Bonds won't answer phasing, regenerate, and Malakir Rebirth effects, but will catch most of the protection spells out there.

Corpse Churn is a relatively well-known card, I'm just surprised at how few decks this sees play in. 2 mana at instant speed is a great rate for the utility the caster gets out of this card. Decks that want to loop creatures in and out of the grave to trigger enters and dies abilities love this.

Visions of Brutality is an interesting way to shut off aggro creatures with the added upside of not being able to be protected against due to being Devoid. It's niche, but deserves a home in decks like Ghen, Arcanum Weaver that can override the downside of auras (ending up in the graveyard).

Dawnbreak Reclaimer is an excellent piece of reanimation due to 1 operative word: "may". 5/5 flying body is nothing to sneeze at. Choose the least offensive creature in your opponents' libraries, or simply make a deal with an opponent to make sure that you're getting back what you need. Cool card.

Scourge of Nel Toth is an excellent sacrifice outlet in decks that simultaneously want to be able to sacrifice creatures and fill the yard by discard, surveil, or mill. It has two relevant creature types and is a big flying body. I run this card in Ganax, Astral Hunter // Haunted One (Dragon Scam).

Thief of Blood gets better and better with each set release as WOTC keeps designing new types of counters. The interesting interaction I see with this card is removing finality counters from creatures you control. Shilgengar, Sire of Famine and Mirko, Obsessive Theorist are good homes for this one.

Verdant confluence costs 6 mana, but is on rate for popular spells like Regrowth and Rampant Growth. Games of Commander can often boil down to a resource race. If the second mode were to return ANY card from the yard, I think this would see a lot more play. Regardless, I think it deserves a home.

Guardian of Tazeem deserves a home in decks outside of Landfall. Shutting down a creature past it's next untap step is a significant amount of time in a game of Commander, especially late game. I can see this being a good beater and piece or "removal" in mono blue decks that run a lot of Islands.

Kothophed, Sould Hoarder is an insane rate for how many cards you're going to draw. The only problem with this card is that it's not for COWARDS. You gotta have GUTS. It can and will kill you, so maybe pair this one with a lifegain deck like Raphael, Fiendish Savior. Treasures 6/6 flyer, to boot.

I believe that Shadows of the Past is worth it in most decks that care about creatures dying. Aristocrats and sacrifice decks could always use more card selection. It goes particularly well in Grenzo, Dungeon Warden and Hidetsugu, Devouring Chaos who both care about the top/bottom of the library.

Who says green doesn't have any good board wipes? The trick to breaking parity with The Great Aurora is by running it in token decks or making good use of haste. As long as you're rebuilding bigger, faster, and stronger than your opponents, this seems like a great way to swing momentum.

Dragons are just cool. Descent of the Dragons is an expensive, but efficient way to turn a bunch of 1/1 tokens in a bunch of 4/4 flying tokens. Even better if you can give them all haste. I like this spell a lot in Ganax, Astral Hunter // Feywild Visitor and Ovika, Enigma Goliath.

Gurmag Drowner doesn't have the coveted "Zombie" type line, but plays well in graveyard decks that care about looping creatures or that can make a lot of tokens. 4 mana to sacrifice a creature and to see the top 4 of your library is a great rate! Also leaves a body to be sacrificed down the road.

Clones decks have so many tools in modern EDH and it seems like every set gives us a new, slightly power-crept clone at 4 mana. The reason to run Mirror Mockery is it's efficiency and repeatability. The trick is finding the right legend that cares about either entering or dying (shouldn't be hard).

I'm excited for dorks with utility!

Besides having really excellent art (Filip Burburan you dog), Ruthless Deathfang acts like a mini, more surgical, Grave Pact. The key here is that it doesn't care about token vs. nontoken. Dimir aristocrats or even any dragon deck with a lot of sacrifice synergy would be happy to play this card.

Hear me out of Youthful Scholar. This is excellent in sacrifice and reanimator decks that can loop it in and out of the yard. I imagine Marchesa, the Black Rose and Vhal, Candlekeep Researcher // Haunted One putting this once to good use. 2 cards and a body to sacrifice for 4 mana is a good rate.

Dragonrage can act as a quasi Overrun in token decks. If you can amass a board of 1/1s and attack with the crew, a couple of them are bound to get through. Pump all that mana into one of the unblocked tokens and rip chunks of life total away. I think it's a cool include in Ovika, Enigma Goliath.
