The foundational data of Livorno3D was extracted and transcribed by DECIMA researchers Daniel Jamison, Heather Smith, Ariana Ellis, and Ariana Sider.

To create Livorno3D, the DECIMA team collaborated with a number of colleagues, including historian Lucia Frattarelli Fischer, architectural historians Alessandro Merlo and Emanuela Ferretti, and our GIS designer Ben Woodward.

The interactive map opens up a whole new city for exploration and academic analysis, allowing users to explore streets populated with the lives of the innkeepers, merchants, craftsmen, renters, and owners who once lived there.

Livorno3D combines a 3D rendering of the early modern Italian city of Livorno with demographic and economic data gathered from a Livornese 'decima nuova' undertaken in 1646.
