LOL yes, good luck to anyone trying to force you to take down posts they dont like. They can file a complaint with /dev/null
January 27, 2026 at 6:44 PM
its just another cooperate owned social network, why bother.

loops.video exists and works and is actually decentralized.

Also a recent punk oriented one I found with some super cool people:
counterforce.social/public/local

Too many to list here.
January 27, 2026 at 4:34 PM
Absolutely is! Many amazing instances out there a few of them for you to check out - these are direct links to the live streams on each instance:
beige.party/public/local

merveilles.town/public/local

theforkiverse.com/public/local

jorts.horse/public/local

The list goes on, theres thousands.
January 27, 2026 at 4:32 PM
yup, and on mastodon if your instance isnt doing this, you can move, or setup your own etc.

on Bsky if they dont do what you feel is right, you're fucked. I guess sign up for BlackSky and hope for the best?

Sucks, but people are finally coming around to seeing the BSky is just a prison.
January 27, 2026 at 4:27 PM
You see, on mastodon we dont have to worry about the rights of evil, and if you don't like how your instance handled it, you can move. Don't like any other instance? Pay someone $6/mo and you can have your own.

Cant do that on BSky, it took BlackSky years and thousands of dollars to stand up.
January 27, 2026 at 4:22 PM
of course, BSky wont do this, they wont take a stand, we all agree ICE is pretty evil, so why allow them to exist here?

They choose to let them exist here.

On mastodon they'd be jettisoned into the sun never to be seen again.
January 27, 2026 at 4:22 PM
fuck terms of service man, take a fucking stand. I bet if the Hitler came back from the dead and started a verified BSky account you'd be like "well he's not violating the TOS so, it's ok".

The fuck is wrong with you people? Holy shit. Take a fucking stand, have a spine.
January 27, 2026 at 4:21 PM
Let the boot lickers keep their centralized social media, it's fine. They are too lazy to have nice things.
January 27, 2026 at 4:17 PM
What you are describing is literally a product of being centralized in the BSky ecosystem.

God damn, people fucking stop buying into the marketing hype.
January 27, 2026 at 4:16 PM
this is all I hear

"I'm so lazy, I'll settle for the convenience of centralized social media because I cannot be bothered to to click a few times so I just gave up."
January 27, 2026 at 4:16 PM
The convenient following behavior you describe is how it works when you follow people on your same instance, and that is what you are doing on the 99.99% centralized BSky instance.

Since Mastodon is way more diversified and decentralized, that's how it works.
January 27, 2026 at 4:15 PM
the point here is that they would rather use corporate owned social media at all costs, justifying it to themselves than ever try to take an ounce of effort to try to also use Mastodon next to BlueSky (you can use both you know). People crave authoritarianism, it's in their blood, it's sad.
January 27, 2026 at 4:06 PM
oh did you know that ICE uses Android phones? Also I bet they use the CHROME Web browser, and probably use Mac's to do their graphic design.

I could go on destroying your point but I'll stop here.
January 27, 2026 at 4:05 PM
Weird, I bet Truth.social runs on Linux and I bet their admins use Windows.

Mastodon is software, open source and freely available for anyone to use. I bet a lot of evil people use Linux with Apache webs server to host CSAM or to commit crimes everyday.

Nice try though.
January 27, 2026 at 4:04 PM
meanwhile there are thousands of Mastodon servers, thats real decentralization. It costs $6/mo to Masto.host to setup your own mastodon instance. Recreating what blacksky did is completely out of reach for 99.999% of people, that is not a user friendly approach to decentralization.
January 27, 2026 at 4:01 PM
and look how insane that was, one has new posts from Link, one doesnt, 99.99% of all users on Atmosphere are on the main corporate owned one.

How much money does it take to run their own app view? is that sustainable? how many users will make the jump? enough? I doubt it.
January 27, 2026 at 4:00 PM
centralized corporate owned social media, no getting around it. 99.99% of it is centralized around 1 VC backed US based corporation that welcomes the verified ICE account on their platform.

The CEO is a known transphobe and fascist lover.

Sorry my man, that's pathetic.
January 27, 2026 at 3:59 PM
and it took how many years, how much money and how much resources to host their own app view? What is it TB's of data? thousands of dollars? that is insane. BSky can still cut them off from the 99.99% of users on BSky main, that sucks.

Yes, man instance was affected, staging was not.
January 27, 2026 at 3:58 PM
LOL, I forgot about this, yeah - ATProto is "decentralizing" alright.

Corporate owned, controlled, with VCs and black sky with all of their resources has been working for years to get a truly independent ATProto tech stack setup, still working on that.

decentralized in theory, but not in practice.
January 27, 2026 at 3:54 PM
it is well documented at this point that when Bsky went down, only staging.blacksky stayed up, the primary blacksky was affected as it relies on centralized resources at bsky.

So yes, it was affected, this is documented and discussed.

Sorry... Bsky is just centralized corporate social media.
