I know what you mean. I love Geraldine Brooks’ writing and had read Year of Winders years ago, and loved it. During the pandemic I thought it would be good to listen to the audiobook but it was read by Ms Brooks and I just couldn’t bear the sound of her voice.

I’m no artist, but you remind me of myself and the attitude I have towards anything I cook, or make. Imposter syndrome. 🙄

Meryl Streep, of course! Damn autocorrect! 🙄

I don’t see that as a problem. Tom Hanks reading The Dutch House or Merck Streep reading Tom Lake were outstanding. It all depends on the quality of the reader. Juliet Stevenson is also a marvellous reader.
