What's the name for this genre that's horror but like, artsy?

Honestly I didn't even find Wake The Bones scary because the eldritch horrors were described so beautifully. Don't Let the Forest In was a bit more unsettling, but the imagery was likewise top notch.

"No matter what he says, Newton does not control the ocean. He only controls the water, which is just one small part of what makes the sea so powerful. I, of course, control the other part. The part that makes sailing, boating, both our livelihoods possible. But Newton knows as well as I tourists don’t pay for rough seas, nor stagnant air. Both are required to garner the kind of tips we aim to earn. For this reason, we quickly came to a truce, or if you’d prefer, a pact of mutually assured destruction. He won’t interfere with my enterprise, nor I his. And so, I glide across the inlet, my own breeze pulling my sail across the water, unhindered by his salty waves. Until the day I run aground.
