My current project examining bird migration through Central Park, NYC continues the color as time inquiry, documenting the colors of avian species that are in the park for specific periods on their migratory journeys.

I sampled colors from the same 18 locations on a hiking trail in New Berlin, NY, each season. Many thanks to @golden_art_fdn for providing the digital tools and time to launch this investigation.

Thanks Daniel. I think of the images I make as translations of bird species. There’s a lot of information embedded in the final image, gleaned from researching the bird.

One of the world’s few tool-using birds. It creates fishing lures with twigs, feathers, insects, etc.
